Diamond Approach Teachers
Primary Teachers
Joyce Lyke is a senior and supervising teacher of the Diamond Approach. She has been teaching D.A. work for 18 years, leading on-going groups in Canada, U.K.,Northern Germany, and the United States. Her background includes: teacher and workshop leader on Esalen's Gestalt training staff in the 1980's. She has extensive bodywork and movement training and holds a B.A. in Somatic Psychology. She led wilderness groups at Esalen and she occasionally leads Earth based ceremonies on her land in Big Sur.
John Davis has been a student of A.H. Almaas since 1975, an ordained teacher of the Diamond Approach since 1983, and a trainer of teachers since 1985. At Almaas' request, John led the team that developed and taught the first Diamond Heart Training program in 1987. His book, THE DIAMOND APPROACH: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE TEACHINGS OF A.H. ALMAAS (Shambhala Publications), is the first systematic overview of this work. John also teaches Diamond Approach groups in Colorado and is a professor at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. His recent work integrates the Diamond Approach and wilderness retreats.
David Silverstein is a senior and supervising teacher of the Diamond Approach. He has been teaching the Diamond Approach for 18 years, working with groups in Europe, Canada, and the United States. His background includes training as a Neo-Reichian therapist, he was certified as a teacher at the Radix Institute in 1979 and led groups at Esalen Institute from the late 70's through the 90's, in meditation, group process, and Reichian breath work.
Assisting Teachers
Candace Harris has been a Ridhwan student since 1989 and is an ordained Diamond Approach teacher supporting groups in Seattle, Victoria, and the UK, and since 1997 a member of the Diamond Approach International Teacher Training group. In 1997 Candace became a faculty member of Antioch University Seattle where she teaches in the spiritual studies track of the BA program. Her experience includes living in rural British Columbia for 18 years where she developed programs and worked with underserved women in remote locations.
Jane Hill-Daigle is an ordained teacher of the Diamond Approach. Jane has been a student of A.H. Almaas since 1990. She supports groups in Victoria and Vancouver as well as offering private sessions. She has a background in classical piano, specializing in the Suzuki Method, and was a faculty member of the Victoria Conservatory of Music for 15 years. As well, she has been a student of the Usui System of Reiki Healing since 1980 and has been a Reiki Master/Teacher and public practitioner of the Usui System of Reiki Healing since 1988. Her work in music and Reiki healing has deepened her appreciation of the depth and beauty of the human soul.
Renie Hope has been a Ridhwan student since 1988 and is an ordained teacher who offers private sessions and supports groups in Seattle and Vancouver. She is also a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in private practice since 1982. Renie has a passionate interest in the Enneagram and began teaching it in the early 1980's. She currently leads Continuing Education for therapists who use the Enneagram in their practice. She began leading long-term Spiritual Growth Groups in 1982 at the Chinook Learning Community that wove together nature-based rituals, dream work, chanting and movement practices. Renie finds teaching the Diamond Approach to be one of the greatest joys of her life.
